Wendy Persch
Born
in Salt Lake City, Utah Grew up in Los Angeles California..
Things I remember the most: drawing horses and getting my first
horse at thirteen.
Moved back to Salt Lake when I was fifteen.
Family owned a furniture business. I later went to work full time in
sales and design.Moved to southwest Colorado1996.
Involved with painting and working in a gallery in Ouray, Colorado.

Telluride,
In
the past two years I have had work in Coldwater Gallery,
Ridgway, Colorado, Kayenta and Juniper Gallerys St.
George, Utah. Mark Zoeller Studios, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and
now in the Mariposa Fine Art Gallery, St. George, Utah.

Rocking V Café, Kanab, Utah Coldwater Gallery, Ridgway,
Colorado
Artist Alpine Holiday (long running juried show in Ouray,
Colorado) placed 3rd in oil and acrylic, where the
representation of abstract was small. I had the registrar position for
two years for the Ouray County Arts Association. I have not
entered shows for a few years, although for the year 2008 I have
entered many and plan to enter many more.
I have had the opportunity to donate many of my gift cards to
organizations: The Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue
Animal charities and other local fundraisers.
I traveled to Nepal in 2004 and was able to capture many images
which have been produced for sale. A portion of the sales from the
cards go to causes in Nepal or horse related charities and needs.
I was able to help a student in Nepal with some of these proceeds.
I now live in Ouray County, Colorado with our six horses and great
dane Solu Khumbu.
I started painting non-representational work for the freedom it offers
me. I never quite know what the paintings are going to be. I start and
the painting itself lets me know what is next. It is a liberating
experience to be in the moment and intuitively paint. Two years ago I
began painting horses in my own style.
